Building Specs
Equinix operates International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data centers in
strategic metropolitan markets in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. These
IBX® centers serve as a reliable and secure platform for the world’s most powerful
networks and companies. It’s what we do every day—without compromise.
Equinix operates state of the art IBX centers in the Chicago metro area and
offers a full range of premium colocation, interconnection and support services
to a wide range of networks, enterprise, content companies and financial
institutions.
Equinix opened CH1 in 2000 and CH2 on 2005. The recently opened CH2
IBX center expansion adds 200 cabinet equivalents. Located on the fifth and
sixth floors respectively, CH1 and CH2 is home to the electronic trading of futures
and options thanks to Equinix Financial eXchange. The Equinix Financial
eXchange delivery platform serves unique needs of the banking and trading
communities within the financial services sector. This platform allows large banks
and trading exchanges to link directly to their “communities of interest”—key
strategic partners and suppliers such as brokers, traders, Futures Clearing
Merchants (FCM), data feed suppliers and proprietary software vendors.
From the 5th and 6th floors of the 350 East Cermak building, Equinix financial customers can connect directly to the
InterContinental Exchange, BT Radiance and Secure Financial Transaction Infrastructure
(SFTI). They can also connect via LNET gateway to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (the “Merc”) and
InterContinental Exchange via ICE gateway.
