Operations

Bob Marzi, Director of Operations Control
Bob is responsible for Switch and Data's Program Management, Operations Control, Operations Staff, and Customer Service Support Center functions.  He brings to Switch and Data more then 30 years of experience in information technology, program management, and strategy development, with 20 years in the telecommunications operations arena.  Bob has held various product management, marketing, strategy development, and program management positions with Digital Equipment, AT&T, CSC, and TCSI prior to joining Switch and Data in 2000.  His earlier experience includes a number of system and application development positions with RCA, Litton, and Singer.

Ross Warrington, Director of Operations West
Ross oversees site operations for Switch and Data’s Western Region.  He has over 30 years experience in technical management and business development positions.  Before joining Switch and Data, Ross held positions in operations, network engineering, customer service, installation, training, and network planning, with Southwestern Bell Telephone, LDX net, and Worldcom. 

Ed Waterstradt, Director of Operations East
Ed oversees site operations for Switch and Data’s Eastern Region.  He has over 40 years experience in technical and management positions.  Before joining Switch and Data, Ed held positions in operations, network engineering, customer service, installation, training, and quality consulting with AT&T, ECI Telecom, and Adelphia Business Solutions.  

Engineering & IT

Glenn W. Todd, Vice President of Facilities Design & Construction
Glenn brings to Switch and Data over 20 years of engineering and construction management experience. Prior to joining the company, he was CEO of G. T. Property Services, Inc., a construction management company. There he led construction management, disaster recovery management, and valuations of hotels, apartment complexes, and commercial real estate projects, for numerous financial institutions. Prior to being promoted to his current position, Glenn served as Switch and Data’s Director of Project Management for the construction of 28 of the company’s colocation facilities.

Marketing

Mario L. Galvez, Vice President of Marketing
Mario’s 20 years of experience includes extensive marketing, product management, project management, business development, and operations executive positions at Paradyne, AT&T, and Intermedia Communications. Prior to joining Switch and Data, Mario was an Officer of Intermedia Communications, holding several senior-level posts in operations and marketing. In his last position, as Product Management Vice President for Advanced Data Services, Mario had P & L responsibility for a $300 million product line and led it to its greatest revenue growth period. 

Roger Kim, Vice President of Strategic Development
Roger manages business and market development functions for Switch and Data.  He brings to the company more then 18 years of Internet and telecom industry experience in marketing, product management, sales, engineering and operations.  Prior to joining Switch and Data, Roger served as VP/GM of data business unit at Arbinet. He also held senior management positions at Aleron, Teleglobe, and Sprint.  He began his career at NSA and supported Operation Desert Storm.  In addition to Roger 's extensive industry experiences, he also holds a patent on trading IP bandwidth in an exchange environment.

Chris Reid, Vice President of Marketing Communications
Chris joined Switch and Data in 2007 and is responsible for the company’s internal and external communications strategy and activities including branding, public relations, advertising, events, and customer communications.  Chris has 12 years of marketing, communications, investor relations, sales management, and entrepreneurial experience.  Prior to joining Switch and Data, Chris was Vice President Marketing at Arbinet and managed the company’s communications, marketing and investor relations programs through its rapid growth from $185K to $500M in annual revenue and a successful IPO.  Prior to Arbinet, Chris served in sales and sales management positions at a start-up in Washington, D.C. that was acquired by Qwest.

Finance 

P.J. Sheil, III, Vice President of Finance
PJ manages the finance and accounting functions for Switch and Data.  He brings to the company more then 13 years of experience in management, financial reporting, mergers & acquisitions and public accounting.  Prior to joining Switch and Data in 2000, PJ held various financial management positions at Celotex, AirTran Airways, Gencor Industries and Price Waterhouse.  PJ is a Certified Public Accountant and belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Joan Gates, Director of Human Resources
Joan manages the personnel and payroll functions for Switch and Data.  Joan  joined  Switch and Data in 1999 with over 15 years of human resources and management experience.  Prior to Switch and Data, she served in a variety of management positions with Southern Wine & Spirits, Sports & Recreation, Inc (a/k/a Jumbo Sports), and Valenti Management.  Joan is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the American Payroll Association (APA).

Sales

Jeffrey U. Bender, Vice President of Sales, Western Region
Jeff manages the direct sales efforts for the Western Region for Switch and Data.  He brings nearly 20 years of experience in sales management and telecommunications knowledge to the company.  Jeff’s extensive background in wholesale and strategic sales will help the company continue its growth and commitment to customers in this critical market.  Prior to joining Switch and Data, Jeff served as Senior Director of Sales at AboveNet for the Western and Asia/Pacific regions.  He also held management and senior sales positions with Williams, Qwest, Frontier, and IXC Communications.

Pete Burns, Vice President of Inside Sales
Pete leads Switch and Data’s Inside Sales Team.  He has more than 20 years experience and has earned a reputation for sales leadership and providing outstanding service to his clients.  Prior to joining Switch and Data 7 years ago, Pete was Vice President of Sales for a nationwide mortgage company.  Prior to that, Pete was Vice President of Sales and Business Development for an IT infrastructure company.

Steve Finnerty, Vice President of Sales, Metro Region
Steve manages the direct sales effort for the Metro Region for Switch and Data.  He brings more than 23 years of experience in sales management and marketing to the company.  Steve's extensive background in new business development and strategic planning will aide the company in expanding its alternate channels of distribution to include Wholesale, Resale, and Agent programs.  Prior to joining Switch and Data, Steve served as President of U.S. Markets for EasyLink Services Corporation. His earlier held positions included AT&T as Vice President of New Business Development and Director of Global Alliance Development within AT&T's Data and Internet Services Division. Additional employers include Canadian Marconi Corporation, Swift Communications, Lane Telecommunications, and Xerox Corporation.

Adam Siegel, Vice President of Sales, Eastern Region
Adam manages the direct sales effort of the Eastern Region, being promoted to that position following 3 years of successful direct sales efforts with Switch and Data. He brings 10 years of experience in sales and sales management to the company. Prior to joining Switch and Data, Adam served as National Account Manager for PAIX.net. His earlier held positions include Branch Sales Manager for OnSite Access and National Account Manager with WorldCom.

Robert Smolen, Vice President of Sales, Southern Region N. America, Southern & Latin America
Robert Smolen serves as Vice President of Sales for Switch and Data Facilities Company, and is responsible for the day-to-day sales activities for the Southern Region of North America as well as, South and Latin Americas.  Prior to joining Switch and Data, Robert held various sales and operational positions throughout his eighteen years with AT&T.  Most recently, he spent the last seven years as Regional Channel Director for AT&T's Indirect Sales Organization.  His background also includes Executive Staff Management, Sales and Product Training and Call Center Management.

Ed Agar, Vice President of Sales Development
Ed is responsible for Switch and Data's Customer Satisfaction Program and Acquisition Sales.  Prior to joining Switch and Data, Ed was a management consultant in the Internet Services sector to major Telco’s, MSPs, intermediaries, and venture capital firms.  In addition, he founded and later sold an IT infrastructure outsourcing advisory firm.  His background includes extensive senior management and leadership positions in Sales, Channels, and Marketing with IBM.
